Interreg Greece-Italy Programme 2021-2027 launches the Pre-announcement of the Seventh call for I.S.O. 6.1 & I.S.O. 6.4 Project Proposals.
Under the ISO 6.1, the Programme is going to support synergies at cross-border level for the enhanced institutional capacity of the public authorities. The aim is to improve and reinforce the existing capacities of the public authorities, as well as to increase the level of coordination and collaboration at cross-border level taking always into consideration the maritime dimension of the Programme area. Actions will include the support of the public authorities, especially of small Municipalities, in order to simplify administrative procedures, cut red-tape (e.g., bureaucracy) and, thus, contribute to more flexibility. Actions should enhance the efficiency of governance including multi-governance and networking in order to also tackle the language barrier.
Added value: a set of best practices, commonly agreed principles for public authorities’ capacity building at all levels. Improved coordination.

ACTION CLUSTER 1. Capacity Building (indicative actions):
– Promotion of cooperation actions aiming at enhancing capacity building and skills of public authorities
ACTION CLUSTER 2. Enhancing Cooperation (indicative actions):
– Enabling the simplification of the procedures, eliminating administrative and linguistic barriers and increasing the efficiency of governance on the basis of the existing structure
– Improving the definition and adoption of joint strategies, joint plans, common management schemes by the public authorities in the key sectors of the area
ACTION CLUSTER 3. Awareness-rasing / Exploiting synergies (indicative actions):
– Promotion of civic engagement and citizens participation in decision-making processes
– Promotion of synergies and integration with other Interreg Programmes and other EU funded Programmes, also strengthening capitalisation activities and results sharing
Under the ISO 6.4, the Programme is going to support actions that will enhance the capacity of the institutions to manage the macro-regional strategies (EUSAIR) due to the potential offered with regard to interlinkages to other areas (nature, risk management, green infrastructure, sustainable tourism, etc.).
Added value: Management and swift implementation of joint programmes / projects by enhanced institutional capacities of stakeholders.
Examples of actions supported ISO 6.4 (non-exhaustive list):
ACTION CLUSTER 1 (indicative actions):
– Developing and implementing solutions to enhance cooperation and organisation processes within the EUSAIR governance structure
Fostering the use of available funding instruments for governance support and EUSAIR implementation
– Developing and implementing joint solutions for monitoring, reporting and evaluating multilevel policy instruments
– Developing mechanisms for the uptake and implementation of multilevel governance
The call has a total budget 2.957.736,32 EUR (EU & National Funds).
The minimum budget of the submitted project proposals is defined as the amount of 300.000,00 €.
The maximum budget of the submitted project proposals is defined as the amount of 800.000,00 €.
The minimum budget of the submitted project proposal per project partner is defined as the amount of 100.000€.
Under the ISO Governance Call, infrastructure works are not eligible.
The Programme is delighted to inform all the potential beneficiaries that in few days from the today’s pre-announcement, the call for proposals will be launched.
The call preannouncement is addressed to:
– National, regional, or local public bodies,
– Bodies governed by public law,
– EGTCs – European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation.
In principle, to become a project beneficiary, the legal address of the beneficiary’s organisation has to be located in the eligible area of the Programme with the exception of:
– organisations located outside the Programme area but having local/regional subsidiary/branch offices established in the Programme area;
-Bodies of the central government located outside the Programme area (e.g. Ministries or other governmental authorities with specific competencies on national level).
Each beneficiary may submit up to 2 Project Proposals in the present Call. The above limit applies to all types of Beneficiaries (LB, PB) considered as a unique structure (not as single Units/Departments) and it is applied at Call level – not at Specific Objective level. In case a potential Beneficiary applies to more than 2 Project Proposals, then the first 2 proposals submitted on MIS, will be assessed.
Associate Partners are not applicable in present call.
